Joyce Nowak joined Boss & Vitou in 2007. Her practice areas include criminal, traffic, OVI, civil, consumer, personal injury, and landlord / tenant law.
Joyce earned a B.A. in Political Science and in Law and Social Thought from the University of Toledo, and received her J.D. from the University of Toledo, College of Law.
Joyce is a member of the Ohio State, Toledo, Toledo Women’s, Lucas County, and Wood County Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She is licensed to practice law in Ohio and in the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio
As a Trooper, for the Ohio State Highway Patrol, now retired, her training included crash investigation, electronic speed measuring devices and alcohol detection, apprehension and testing. In addition to her legal experience and tenure as an Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper, Joyce participated in the University of Toledo, College of Law, Prosecutor Seminars by demonstrating DUI/OVI apprehension, detection and testing procedures. She was certified in Background Investigations by the Ohio State Highway Patrol in 1996 and received Instructor Certification from the Ohio Peace Officers Training Commission in 2000.
